Carpet stain removal tips for all general stains, soiling & spills
- Act quickly
- Remove any excess liquid/moisture from the carpet immediately
- Blot the carpet dry with a clean sponge or paper towel, working from the outside in to limit it spreading. Never rub a stain as it will alter the carpets texture.
- Rinse the area with lukewarm water, cover with absorbent towels and place something heavy on top to soak up all the moisture.
- Vacuum the areas to move the pile around and allow it to dry naturally
- Do not walk on the carpet area until dry.
- If the stain does not appear to be removed, call a professional carpet cleaner immediately.
Australian/NZ standard AS/NZ 3733 (available from Standards offices in your state capital city) provides a comprehensive guide to cleaning practises and stain removal.
