Buying Carpet

  • Do your research! Your carpet may be required to perform for many years, a little homework now can save $$$ in the long term.
  • Always ask for a copy of the plan, verify the quantity required to complete the job, where are the joins going to be?
  • Who makes the carpet you are planning on buying? Does the manufacturer have a website that you can checkout?
  • If the product has an obscure name that you can't find online, ask why? Has the product been renamed?
  • What is the warranty on the carpet & workmanship?
  • If the retailer you are buying from is an online business, do they have a showroom or are they a 'fly by night' operation?
  • Has this carpet been tested by the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS)
  • Does your written quote include a detailed breakdown of costings?
  • Is the carpet in stock now, if not when will it be available?
